Witham Hockey Club’s men bounced back from the disappointment of the previous week’s loss by overpowering a decent Hertford outfit.
Although the 6-0 scoreline seemed to reflect a one-sided match, Hertford deserved credit and if it wasn’t for an outstanding display by Witham keeper Neal Hadgraft, the result could have been much closer.
Man-of-the-match Hadgraft said: “It was a good game to play in and while we were far from our best, from a personal point of view, keeping a clean sheet is always a massive boost for me.
“We have things to work on as we know the games will get harder, so we won’t get complacent.”
