There will be no defensive thoughts in Alex Lynn’s mind as the GP3 Series moves to Monza in Italy this weekend.

The 20-year-old racing driver from Dunmow will take a sizeable lead at the top of the GP3 standings to the Italian iconic circuit, but there will be no thoughts of looking to sit on that advantage over New Zealander Richie Stanaway.

Instead, Lynn (pictured), who is a member of the Red Bull Junior Programme, will stay on the attack to cement his position as the most dominant driver in the championship.

And he is also looking to continue impressing the watching Formula One bosses at a high-speed venue that will suit his Carlin team car as he tries to secure a place in F1 in the next few seasons.

“We’ll try to attack and to win at Monza,” said Lynn.

“I think we are genuinely the fastest car on the grid so you have to attack rather than defend."
