Witham Town manager Garry Kimble is anticipating a tough month ahead for his team in the Ryman League premier division.

Despite them getting September off to the perfect start with a 1-0 win against third-placed Wingate and Finchley on Tuesday, Kimble knows testing times lie ahead for his players.

It has been a great start to life in the premier division for Kimble’s team – aside from last weekend’s disappointing 2-0 defeat at VCD Athletic – and they now have 11 points from eight games.

However, a tough run starts with a home game against Billericay Town on Saturday, continuing with a trip to title favourites Margate of Tuesday and Kimble has no illusions of the size of the task ahead.

He said: “We have some hard games coming up now.

“We’ve got Billericay on Saturday who are big and strong and we’re at Margate on Tuesday, which will be a massive test for us.

“We’ve then got Bowers and Pitsea away in the FA Cup.

“So it’s a hard month coming up, but if we can get over September unscathed then we can look forward more."
