WITHAM Town boss Garry Kimble says he and his players are relishing the challenge of ruffling feathers in the Ryman Premier.

The club were promoted from division one north last season and kick-off their campaign at home to Lewes on Saturday (3pm).

Kimble knows how difficult this term will be and admits his side are likely to lose more than they win.

However, he believes that by working hard and being organised, they can cause upsets and maintain their status at step three level.

“We’re not under any illusions,” said the Town boss.

“Consolidation and finishing fifth from bottom would be a real achievement and that’s the aim.

“I doubt we’ll go any higher because we’re up against much bigger teams with much bigger budgets.

“We’ll be seen as the whipping boys but I’m quite comfortable with that tag.

“Let’s see what the other teams have got.

“Hopefully we can be hard to beat, hard-working, organised and a side that doesn’t give silly goals away.

“Maybe if we can do that, we’ll cause a surprise or two along the way.”
