Alan Devonshire is pleased with the fitness of new Braintree Town signing Charlie Strutton.
The 25-year-old striker has joined the Iron on a one-year deal with another year option after impressing during a spell at Braintree last year, when he scored six goals in seven games while on loan from AFC Wimbledon.
Following that spell at the Amlin Stadium he then went on loan to Aldershot Town, but broke his leg in his first game and has had to rebuild his fitness since. However, despite the injury, Devonshire had no reservations about getting Strutton in permanently and hopes he will be ready to battle for a place in the team in the early part of the Conference Premier campaign.
“I’m pleased to have the four strikers as I only had three last year and I’m glad to have more options,” said Devonshire.
