Braintree Town have announced the latest addition to their strike force with the signing of Charlie Strutton.

The 25-year-old impressed during a productive spell with the Iron last season when he scored six goals in seven games while on loan from AFC Wimbledon.

And Braintree Town boss Alan Devonshire has now managed to secure his signing on a permanent basis as Strutton joins another former loanee, Dan Walker, in strengthening the Iron's forward line ahead of the forthcoming Conference Premier campaign.

Devonshire had wanted to keep hold of Strutton longer last season but he went back to Wimbledon before heading out on another loan deal to Aldershot Town.

However, he broke his leg in his first match at the Shots.

He returned to the Dons to begin his recuperation but left at the end of last season and has been building his fitness to start the campaign in August.
