BILLERICAY Cricket Club are putting on quite a show when they host the final of the SNEL Essex League T20 competition this weekend.

On Sunday, July 24 Billericay will host the semi-finals and final, with Shenfield and Chelmsford having already booked their place.

The club is also holding a free family fun open day (supported by ECB sponsors Waitrose) to make the community more aware of the facility and encourage new membership and participation as part of the community program supported by Active Basildon and Basildon County Council.

There will be cricket tasters offered by the club's volunteer ECB qualified coaches and fete stalls raising funds on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital, bouncy castles, face painting, a Man versus Food competition and a fast bowling event.

There will also be an all-day bar and BBQ available to spectators along with other refreshments.

The event will begin 10am with the semi-final matches starting at 11am, the final at 3pm and presentations around 6pm.

The day will also feature the official opening of the outdoor nets extension and enhanced patio viewing area, both funded by grants from Veolia North Thames Trust will take place.
