CHELMSFORD City closed the gap to four points at the top of the National League South with a narrow 1-0 win at Weston-super-Mare.
The Clarets were indebted to a goal after seven minutes by new signing Phil Roberts, who blasted high into the net to put the visitors ahead.
Despite coming under intense pressure in the second half, Rod Stringer's men put in a superb rearguard action to ensure they took all three points back to Essex.
