We're fully aware of Wycombe rivalry

We're back at home this weekend and looking forward to what will be a big game against Wycombe Wanderers.

We won both of our matches against Wycombe last season, so we’re looking to do the same again this time around.

The atmosphere was great in both of those games and hopefully, we can get three points this weekend and move back up the table.

It’s a big game and we’re aware of the rivalry that exists between the fans.

It’s a fairly local one and the fans always turn out in force, so it goes without saying that we’re looking to get a result.

The win will be first and foremost in our minds but after that, it would be great to secure our first clean sheet of the season.

I’ve been working hard to do that like the rest of the boys and it’s something that we’re all conscious of.

If you can get that strong defensive base, we know that we will always create chances to score at the end of the pitch.

We’ve been through the video of the Cheltenham game this week and it was a good honest assessment of where we went wrong and where we need to improve.

We know that it wasn’t up to standard last Saturday and we have to rectify the away form quickly.

We can’t keep feeling like that after away games.

But it’s been positive since then and now we’re looking forward to Saturday.

Beany is a top pro

We could well come up against my former team-mate Marcus Bean on Saturday.

Marcus is a top man and top professional and he would also do what he had to do and more on the pitch, on the training ground and in the gym.

Rifts aren't common place

Apparently, clubs are on the alert over Edinson Cavani’s possible availability after he clashed with his Paris St-Germain team-mate Neymar in their 2-0 win over Lyon.

It’s all come about they had a row over who should take a penalty.

Neymar has pulling power – you always get little cliques in any environment whether it’s sport or not.

But I personally haven’t had any rifts with any of my team-mates over the years and I haven’t come across any instances of players not liking each other.

We’re in a highly competitive environment and sometimes it can boil over but it’s not something that generally lasts.

However, the top level is full of inflated egos – you need that confidence in your own ability but sometimes, it can go over the edge.

Kins is boxing clever

Fair play to Rio Ferdinand for deciding to launch a professional boxing career.

Boxing is something that’s popular within our squad particularly among the injured lads, who do a lot of boxing.

It helps them with the cardiovascular side of things, along with boosting their upper body strength.

I think a few of the lads would fancy their chances a bit in the ring.

Lewis Kinsella in particular has done a lot of boxing work in the past and he’s a fierce competitor – he certainly doesn’t like losing!

Don't price people out

It was interesting to read Paul Lawrie’s comments about the expense of golf driving away the next generation of young talent from the sport.

I’m a keen golfer myself and it’s definitely an expensive hobby – you can really rack up the cost with things like green fees, buggy hire and food and drink.

I can see where Paul Lawrie is coming from but from what I can see it’s still a hugely popular sport.

Sport should be for everyone and that should always be the case, so it would be a shame if people were missing out on playing it because of cost.

It should be accessible like any sport.

I'm happy for Essex...even though I follow Kent!

I grew up in Kent, so I’m certainly not an Essex Cricket Club fan!

But you have to acknowledge their achievement and to follow up their promotion by winning the County Championship title in their first season back in the top flight is a big achievement.

They’ve done very well this season and they’ve done it with games to spare, so fair play to them.

However, I don’t want to say too much more about it as my allegiances are with their opponents when the Battle of the Bridge takes place!
