MISTLEY Rugby Club amassed 94 points in their Eastern Counties League division two match at Felixstowe, on Saturday.

Mistley had lost on both of their last two visits to the Suffolk club.

However, this was not the case this time around.

Felixstowe were short of players and rather than abandon the match, Mistley hooker Angus Bissett, who has had a brilliant start to his playing career at the club, switched sides to make up the numbers.

Mistley knew they needed to work hard from the start and, within a few minutes, Kyle Fox, another player who has had a rewarding season, ran towards the try-line to allow Reece Kirkham to go over.

The try was disallowed but, within minutes, captain Nick Graves forced himself over to start the scoring.

Further tries from Connor Williams and Alastair Baggiony-Taylor, together with a conversion from Matt Course, meant that after just ten minutes Mistley led 17-0.

With their forwards pushing ahead, further tries came from Course, Gary Booker, Matt Aspinall and Will Vine, who had a cracking game at scrum-half, to push the score to 41-0.

In the second half, Sam Ackerman and Jess Fearn, back from injury, joined the fray.

However, despite Mistley's dominance, Felixstowe fought all the way and did not let their heads drop.

Williams scored his second try and then Lewis Symes added two tries in succession, after pulsating runs.

Felixstowe's injuries mounted up, so Nick Moses and Lewis Stratton, of Mistley, donned Felixstowe shirts.

Further tries from Aspinall, Kirkham, Baggiony Taylor, Vine and Graves, and conversions, ended the score at 94-0.

Other notable Mistley performances came from Ryan Knapton, Tom Rowe, Ed Barrie, Steve Betts and James Wares.

There are no league matches this weekend.

However, the Marauders have a friendly at home to Clacton (kick-off 2pm).
