CRAIG Roper helped bring some home success as Sudbury Motor Cycle Club organised the fourth and final round of the Dave Barkshire Motorcycles Two Man Enduro Championship at Tye Farm in Great Cornard.

The Championship class was a closely-fought battle all day.

In the end, Roper (Sudbury) and Rob Blackman (Castle Colchester) took the win on 71.67 laps.

The next two teams were tied on 71 laps at the end so it was down to the special test and by 11 seconds Jamie Roper/Glenn Walsh (both Sudbury) took second place with Rob Aldridge (Diss)/Ed Pooley (Stowmarket) third.

Lewis Bond and Ben Grice (both Lowestoft) were fourth, while Halstead duo Rob and Aaron Nicoll were fifth as they pushed Will Kerry (Woodbridge) and Sam Toy (Sudbury) into sixth by 16 seconds in the special test.

In the last session Toy had a bad fall, dislocating his knee and with help of a fellow rider, Michael Ridge, he got on his bike and finished without penalties.

It meant he and Kerry could finish and they have provisionally won the 2016 Championship class title by six points.

Bond and his usual riding partner, Tom Braddock, who was not available at the final round due to family reasons, finished second while there is a tie for third place between Nicoll/Nicoll and Aldridge/Pooley.

In the Expert class Ross Taylor (Diss) and Michael Ridge (Stowmarket) were unstoppable, taking the win on 69.33 laps, while Daniel Piper and Stephen Green (both Sudbury) finished fourth.

Overall Taylor and Ridge finished with a perfect score after winning all four rounds.

There were six teams in with a chance of winning the Clubman class title and on the day Kevin Palmer (Norwich) and Jeff Turner (Sudbury) had a perfect ride in completing 67 laps with no penalties.

James Barker/Brett Halworth (both Sudbury) were second on 65.67 laps, Duncan Griffin (Diss)/Dean Curry (Sudbury) were third and Matt Smith/Marc Norton (both Sudbury) fourth.

Provisionally, the Clubman class title has been won by Kerry and Turner.
