FRINTON Golf Club's favourite mixed foursomes event was played on Sunday.

Liam Wilson and Jemma Jackson won the Arnold Quick Salver with a good score of 38 points.

Jemma’s father, Nigel, and partner, Margaret Dean, were in second place, with 35 points.

The Gards, Peter and Caroline, finished third, with 34.

Meanwhile, junior captain Claire Vaughan donned the Essex uniform to play for the county at Bawburgh, in Norfolk.

She did herself proud with 32 stableford points, helping Essex finish third in the East Region Junior Trophy.

The Stage Golfing Society made its annual pilgrimage to Frinton.

As usual, it was a very sociable gathering.

The Stage managed to sneak another victory against their hosts, narrowly winning 12–11 and retaining the Beach Hut Trophy.

Meanwhile, the Frinton Ferrets played for the "Two Sheds Jackson" Trophy.

Keith Jackson was a founder member of the Ferrets and because he owned two beach huts, he was nicknamed "two sheds Jackson."

Keith passed away two years ago and, to mark the day, this was the second playing of the trophy.

The winner this year was Nigel Anderson, with 38 points, on countback from Hamish Stubbs.

Andy Sylvester was third, with 35 points.

On ladies' day, Rosemary Rouse was the winner on the Kirby Course with 37 points.

Patricia Freear finished in second place with 35 points.

Over on the Havers Course, the format was threesomes with two scores to count.

The Three Chicks team of Margaret Dean, Lyn Lawrence and Jan Wright were way out in front with 85 points.

The Late 30s team, made up of Audrey Joshua, Jane Quick and Helen Barr, finished in second place with 80 points.

It was a hat-trick week for Margaret Dean, winning her third event.

This time it was the Granny’s Cup, a ten-hole stableford event, and she finished with an amazing 26 points.

Caroline Gard, also on a winning streak, was in second place with 23 and Loraine Motion finished third with 22.
