MALDON AND TIPTREE manager Kevin Horlock is set to give some of his squad players a chance to shine when they travel to play BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT tonight.

The Jammers are expected to give some of their squad players and under-18 squad members some game time in their opening game in this season's Tolleshunt D'Arcy Cup.

Horlock told the Daily Gazette: "We have a very good squad and there a number of lads who have not played as many minutes so far as perhaps they would have liked, so it's a good chance for them to get some game time under their belt.

"We have a decent squad at Maldon and there are some good players who aren't playing at the moment, so it's a good opportunity for them to show that they want the shirt.

"We'll also be looking to get some of our under-18 players involved.

"We have a good under-18 team and coming new into the job, I want to get to know them and see a bit of them too."

Brightlingsea are also set to give an opportunity to some of their younger players, as both clubs aim to make progress in the competition.

Regent will be looking to avenge their opening-day Ryman League North defeat at the hands of Maldon, earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Maldon have completed the signing of former Colchester United youngster Tyler Brampton.

Brampton, who became a fans' favourite last season after playing 29 times for the Jammers on loan from the U's, has arrived from Ryman Premier outfit Billericay Town.

Horlock added: "I think Tyler's a great addition to our squad.

"We know a bit about him from when he was at the club last time on loan and he's a great lad and a very good player."

STANWAY ROVERS will be aiming to make progress in the FA Cup tonight.

They play their preliminary replay with Barking at the Hawthorns, after the original tie between the two clubs ended in a goal-less draw on Saturday.
