FORRESTER Park Golf Club's men’s club championship took place in windy conditions but Mark Jeffrey handled them best as he took a four-shot victory.

He won with a score of 158 for the 36 holes, with Chris Collins in second place with 162 and Steve Pettitt third with 163.

The winner of the over-14 handicap prize went to Cameron Chaplin

The vets had their annual match against the ladies for the Ball & Chain Trophy.

After a keen contest, the vets ran out winners by 339 points to 321.

While the vets’ team was playing a friendly match against Benton Hall, the remainder played an early bird stableford which was won by Steve Badjonat with 42 points.

Eric Barker was second with 41 points and Michael Pierce third with 40 points.

It was free drinks all round after the competition as John Mirams had a hole-in-one on the fifth hole.
