WIVENHOE A have maintained their excellent start to the Colchester and District Tennis League men’s division one season.

They won 6-3 at Colchester Officers’ Club B.

In division two, Spring Lane B sustained their unbeaten run with a 6-3 win at home to Kirby B.

However, Spring Lane’s D team suffered a stark contrast in emotions in division three, falling to a heavy 9-0 defeat at West Mersea A.

Division four saw Wivenhoe B secure a 6-3 victory at early table-toppers Lexden R&F B.

In division five, Colchester Officers’ Club D maintained their excellent start to the season with a comfortable 7-2 triumph at Frinton D.

In a week devoid of action from the ladies’ doubles, the only result to report was unfortunately as a result of a walkover.

Lexden R&F A were awarded a 9-0 victory over Kirby A, in the ladies’ premier division.

Wivenhoe’s successful week in the men’s doubles was matched by Wivenhoe’s A team in the mixed category.

Wivenhoe earned a hard-fought 5-4 away win against The Essex C in division two.

Wivenhoe’s B team also enjoyed a winning feeling, triumphing by a comfortable 7-2 scoreline in their division five clash with The Essex D.

However, also in division five, Wivenhoe’s C team were on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline in their match against Frinton D.
