TENDRING Volleyball Club’s women’s team are celebrating their first-ever Super 8s victory.
The Frinton-based team, promoted to the elite division last season, defeated Team South Wales 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-27, 15-12).
The match took place at the University of Essex on Sunday.
And it came on the back of five straight defeats in Tendring’s opening matches, including a 3-0 reverse at the hands of Polonia SideOut London on Saturday.
The team’s next league game is on December 12, away to the Malory Eagles.
Before that, though, they have a National Cup third-round tie at IMKA London, on December 5.
Tendring’s men’s team were also in action, in National League division one, as they beat Newcastle Staffs 3-2.
In terms of sets, they found themselves 1-0 and 2-1 down before battling back to secure a 23-25, 25-21, 26-28, 25-21, 22-20 success.
The team’s next league match is on December 12, away to London Lynx.
