CHELMSFORD Chieftains still lead the way in NIHL Division One South after securing three points out of a possible four over the weekend.

They travelled to Milton Keynes Thunder with a squad weaked by injuries and unavailabilities.

But they returned with a 7-3 victory thanks to five goals from Slovakian sharpshooter Juraj Huska.

Matt Turner and Grant Barlett were also on target ahead of their home match on Sunday against Invicta Dynamo.

Following a goalless first period, Dynamos took the lead through Eriks Ozollapa before an unmarked Matt France equalised to end the middle period 1-1.

Both netminders made important stops before Anthony Leone put Chieftains ahead and Huska scored to make it 3-1.

Invicta called a time-out and then saw Josh Condren pull a goal back before the Kentish club to equalised through Steve Osman.

Chelmsford then had a goal disallowed and time ran out, leaving them three points clear at the top of the table.

Chieftains are away to Streatham Redskins on Saturday before taking on the Bracknell Hornets at Riverside on Sunday (6.30pm).

Chelmsford Warriors stayed top of NIHL Division Two East with a 4-3 away win at Haringey Racers. They host the same opposition at the Riverside on Saturday (5.40pm).
