LITTLE Oakley joint-manager Sean Tynan expects his players to be champing at the bit when they return for pre-season training next week.

The Acorns’ senior squad report for duty next Thursday night.

Tynan can feel a “buzz” around the club already and says all bar one of last season’s successful squad is set to return.

Alex Warnes is also back in the fold after a long-term injury and the club will continue to encourage their best young players to knock on the first-team door.

The one senior player missing from last season is Adam Bloss, who has gone travelling around Australia.

“We’re all looking forward to next week,” said Tynan, who runs the side in tandem with Paul Sadler.

“There’s a buzz around the club and everyone is excited about next season.

“The (Essex and Suffolk) Border League is going to be the toughest it’s been for ages.

“Holland FC and Coggeshall both want to go up and then you’ve got the usual heavyweights, like Gas Rec, West Bergholt and University of Essex.

“But we’re ready for that challenge and looking forward to it."
