HEYBRIDGE Swifts boss Cliff Akurang is continuing to build his side ahead of the new season.
The Swifts boss has brought young keeper Harry Palmer from Maldon and Tiptree to Scraley Road for the forthcoming Ryman League division one north campaign.
Akurang said: “Palmer is a very promising keeper.
“It is the direction the club is going in to bring on young players.
“He stood out for me last year, he is only 19 and has already played a number of games at this level.
“I think he can thrive here and that we can bring him on and he will be an excellent player.”
Sam Ashford has put pen to paper on a new deal that keeps him at the Texo Stadium.
Ashford was with the club last season and also had a brief spell with Maldon.
Ashford finished the season in great form and Akurang said: “Ashford is another young player looking to carry on his formfrom last season.
“He is a young and hungry player and I am pleased to have him sign on.”
