HOLLAND Shore Boxing Club’s Tyler Upchurch made it three wins out of three when outpointing Lewis Stevens on the Berry Boys show, in Basildon.
He let southpaw Stevens walk forward in the first round, using the ring well while connecting with sharp left hands to win a hard first round.
The second round continued in the same manner but St Osyth-based Upchurch stood his ground and took the contest to his rugged southpaw rival.
Being slightly taller, Upchurch connected constantly with four and five-punch combinations as the home boxer began to tire.
Stevens began brightly in the third round, trying to unsettle his opponent.
However, he was met head on as Upchurch’s long left hands and continuous work-rate took its toll.
As Stevens faded, Upchurch raised the pace to run out a convincing unanimous points winner.
In a lively skills bout, Holland Shore’s Blake Houseman boxed brilliantly as he met Danson Youth’s Andalous Ghoumrassi.
Oliver Dragisic was left disappointed as opponent Bolal Khan came in unexpectedly underweight, so was left to cheer his club-mates on.
