ALAN Kimble wants his Maldon and Tiptree side to come out fighting against former club Aveley.

The Jammers boss was disappointed last Saturday as they lost out 2-1 to visiting Tilbury at Park Drive.

And Kimble wants a rapid Ryman League division one north response from his side when they travel to Aveley this weekend.

The defeat brought to an end a three-match unbeaten run for Maldon and a win would have seen them rise to 12th in the division.

Both Maldon and Aveley will have something to prove at Mill Field.

The Jammers will be looking to get back to winning ways and Aveley will want to bounce back from their 3-0 mauling at the hands of Needham Market.

Maldon will want to resume their climb up the table and Kimble knows his side will have to put on a better display than they did against the Dockers, whom he managed briefly in 2010.

Kimble said: “It will be a very tough game against Aveley.

“We are going to have to come out of the starting blocks quickly and fight for the ball.

“They will have something to prove after their defeat against Needham and we will want to do the same after Tilbury.

“Both teams will be like wounded soldiers and it will be the side that wants it most that is going to win.”

Kimble added: “I have a few leaders on the pitch but I need 11 leaders out there.

“They’re will be no quarter given on Saturday.

“It is going to be a physical battle.

“But physical in a controlled manner, I don’t want boots flying in.

“I don’t need any more red cards. I have a full and fit squad to choose from and that’s how I want it to stay.

“We have ten games left and I want us to finish as high as possible in the division.

“We could have gone 12th if we had won on Saturday and that is where I wanted to be at this time of the season.”
