LITTLE Oakley joint-boss Sean Tynan wants his side to start mixing with the big boys.
So far this season the Acorns have come unstuck against Essex and Suffolk Border League high-fliers Gas Recreation, Holland FC and University of Essex.
But they have a chance to set the record straight in tomorrow’s home contest against premier division leaders West Bergholt.
“We’ve shown we can beat mid and lower-half teams, but now we need to stand up and be counted against a top team like Bergholt,” said Tynan, who runs the side with Paul Sadler.
“That’s what we’ll be telling the boys and if we apply ourselves properly, and make our home advantage count, there’s no reason why we can’t do the business tomorrow.
“So far this season we’ve lost to top teams like Gas, Holland and the Uni.
“But now is the time to step up, so that we too can be classed as a top team in our own right."
