BURNHAM Ramblers boss Bertie Brayley believes his side was handed a footballing lesson in their heavy defeat at Wroxham.
The Ramblers crashed to a Ryman One North 8-0 defeat on Saturday as The Yachtsman ran riot.
Four goals in each half put paid to the visitors’ chances.
Brayley said: “It was a bit of a car crash.
“I don’t want to pass the buck but we caught them on a very good day.
“Everything they did came off – every chance, every pass.
“We couldn’t get near them.
“We have played the top five teams now and you can really see the gulf between them and the rest of the division.
“Teams like Needham and Wroxham are very similar.
“Their strength and movement is superior to a lot of teams.
“I said to the lads afterwards that we had been handed a footballing lesson.
“I knew it was going to be a tough game as they had beaten Aveley 5-0 the week before.
“This defeat, coming on the back of two wins, a loss and a draw, felt that we had taken two steps forwards then a hundred steps back.”
This weekend Ramblers entertain mid-table Romford in the league.
