The course was found in top condition for this week’s Par/Bogey competition at Playgolf Colchester.

Tom Earl (9) took advantage of the receptive greens when he signed off for a plus five card to win division one.

Earl carded 11 pars and a brace of par four birdies on the fourth and tenth holes to win by a margin of three holes.

Mick Seaman (9) carded a plus two card to take second place.

His card included nine pars and a birdie on the par four sixth hole.

Ron Gilzean (12) took third place with a level score after carding seven pars and a birdie two on the par three third.

Roger Giles (20) won division two and earned a handicap cut to play off 19 next time.

Giles carded plus three to win by a margin of two.

Countback was required to separate Mehendra Gurung (14) in second and Stephen Allen (17) in third after both carded plus one.

Alan Pearman (25) strolled home with the win in division three with a level CSS plus two after round highlights of five pars.

Countback was required to separate three players all with level scores.

Stephen Marr (24) took second place, Ray Rowley (26) was third, leaving Miguel Ruiz to narrowly miss out a top three spot.
