CLACTON Rugby Club skipper Aaron Johnston hopes his side can go from strength to strength after their first victory of the season.
The euphoric Seasiders held their nerve to beat Beccles 27-24, at Vista Road on Saturday.
It was their first-ever success in London League division three north-east, at the fifth time of asking and coming hot on the heels of the previous week’s 118-0 mauling at the hands of Cantabrigian.
But having got the monkey off their back, Johnson is hopeful his side can build on it and secure enough victories to avoid relegation.
“It was an incredible feeling when the final whistle blew,” said the 27-year-old.
