FRINTON’S cricketers have taken a major step towards retaining the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship.
They won by four wickets after a hard-fought division one encounter at Sudbury, on Saturday.
Second-placed rivals Coggeshall also won, meaning the championship is going down to the final day of the season – Saturday.
Frinton are now two points clear at the top and finish with a home match against Witham, while Coggeshall – who stayed firmly in the title hunt with a 13-run success at home to Haverhill – visit Mildenhall.
