Halstead Town will have to turn their thoughts back to Thurlow Nunn League division one today after the frustration of their aborted FA Cup trip to St Margaretsbury on Wednesday.

A floodlight failure saw their extra preliminary round replay abandoned, but they are back in league action today as they travel to Team Bury looking to record a third straight win.

Boss Mark Benterman has been impressed with what he has seen from his team so far.

He said: “We’re looking so sound defensively and it’s now six games since we’ve conceded a goal.

“We had one of the best defensive records in the league last year and we want to go even better than that this time.

“The lads have really knuckled down and we’re chucking bodies on the line now which we perhaps didn’t do last year.

“I’m over the moon with that and the shape we’ve got and we also look dangerous going forward.”

Benterman said he was set to have James Regan and Craig Tomlinson missing for the trip to Bury, but expected Ash Baptiste and Tom Cook to come back in.
