CLACTON Golf Club seniors’ captain Peter Savage held his Captain’s Day.
Playing an 18-hole stableford with a shotgun start, more than 100 players competed for prizes in several categories.
After lunch, Savage announced the winners.
Results: Nearest the pin: second hole - Jim Wiggam. Fifth hole - Mick Curwood. Seventh hole - Geoff Manning. 15th hole - Malcolm Pitcher. 17th hole - Tony Fisher. Nearest the line on the 13th hole - Brian Walker. Secret pairs winners - John Nicholson and Tony Burnside. Over-80s 18 holes winner - Gordon Waller. Over-80s nine holes winner - 1 Ken Moore, 2 Frank Ficken. Divisional prizes: Gold - Norman Messenger; Silver - Alan King; Bronze - Malcolm Leggett. Captain’s Day winner: 1 Malcolm Taylor, 2 John Nicholson, 3 Norman Borstel.
