CHELMSFORD’S Rebecca Gallantree simply cannot wait to return to the scene of her London 2012 exploits – but she admits it won’t be the same without partner Alicia Blagg.

Gallantree is set for a return to the Olympic Aquatics Centre this week as the FINA Diving World Series moves to London after the opening two legs in Beijing and Dubai.

It has been a stop-start year so far for Gallantree with 3m synchro partner Blagg, whom she finished seventh with at the London 2012 Olympics, struggling with a wrist injury.

Blagg will miss London – Gallantree’s first competition at the Aquatics Centre since the Olympics – but, with Hannah Starling stepping in, she’s not fazed by the disruption.

“I am really looking forward to London,” said Gallantree. “I can’t wait to go and see the pool again – it will be the first time I will have seen it since the Olympics. It probably will be quite emotional because it was such an amazing time at the Games.”

Blagg’s injury has not held Gallantree back. The 29-year-old placed fourth in her semi-final in Beijing and then fourth in the final in Dubai.

Tickets to see Rebecca Gallantree compete at the FINA/NVC Diving World Series, Starting Friday and finishing Sunday are still available.
