Holidays keep Iron boss playing a waiting game
Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire says things are still slow on the club’s transfer front as he waits for his potential new targets to return from their summer breaks.
The Iron boss has been forced to play a waiting game as he looks to bring in replacements for Ben Wright and Jai Reason and new players to strengthen his squad ahead of the start of the Blue Square Bet Premier season.
He said: “There’s nothing to report at the moment as I’m just waiting for the boys I’m looking at to come back from their holidays.
“There maybe something to report at the end of next week, but nothing at the moment.”
Devonshire added that one of his principle summer targets has opted to join another club, but there is one more who he is still chasing and others are “in the pipeline”.
Devonshire said there hadn’t been any more of last year’s squad sign new deals, but he expected that to change once they all returned for pre-season training on June 30.
