CHRISTIAN Frimpong admitted that Braintree Town had the tables turned on them when they headed to St Albans City on Easter Monday.

Having come back from a goal deficit to grab a valuable victory in their previous Vanarama National League South game at Weston Super Mare last week, St Albans inflicted a similar fate on Braintree to put a dent in their play-off hopes.

Frimpong said it was a frustrating way for the game to end after Braintree had taken an early lead and felt they hadn't dealt with the change in momentum that occurred in the second half at Clarence Park.

He said: "It was a game of two halves.

"We dominated in the first and created chances so we could have had two or three (goals), but we came away from what we were doing in the first half after half-time and they got momentum.

"They kept pushing and pushing and it slipped away from us.

"I thought we weren't under too much pressure before they scored, but they just grew after that.

"We used that type of momentum against Weston (Super Mare) last week and they did it against us, but we should have been able to pull through that.

"At the end of the day, we lost, so that's frustrating.

"It's always a frustration when you are in a winning position and then end up losing, but we can take some positives with the way we played in the first half.

"However, when we're in positions like that, we just have to be horrible and see it out.

"Sometimes you have to just scrap out a result, but unfortunately this one didn't go our way."
