MANAGER Brad Quinton feels it is not just the result itself but the manner in which it came that can be important for his Braintree Town team after their 2-1 win at Weston Super Mare.

The Iron claimed their first Vanarama National League South away win since November 11, but had to come from behind to secure victory with goals from Luke Allen and Ben Wyatt.

And Quinton feels the buoyant atmosphere in the wake of that result can be carried into a busy Easter schedule and hopefully beyond into a push for a finish in the play-off places - starting with today's Good Friday home game against Oxford City (kick-off 3pm).

The Iron boss said: “We can look back at this when hopefully we’re in the play-offs and see it as vital points.

“You look at performances where people have stepped up and those are crucial.

“Hopefully we can get into the play-offs and we’ll be able to say that Weston Super Mare was where we grew in stature.

“I was pleased for the boys and their attitude, even the ones who were rested.

“We had a mind for Friday’s game and rested some but two of the boys who we brought on scored us the goals.

“When you make substitutions, you hope it works with the tactics you have and that the boys who have been watching are frustrated and want to prove a point.

“Luke Allen and Ben Wyatt certainly did the job and I was pleased for all of them.

“It made it a nice journey home."
