Waterlogged pitch sinks Braintree's hopes of getting game on
Braintree Town Reserves' Thurlow Nunn League First Division Knockout Cup semi-final has been postponed.
The Young Irons had been due to host Wisbech St Mary on Tuesday night to battle for a place in the final, but a waterlogged pitch at the IronmongeryDirect Stadium has scuppered those plans.
Heavy rain on Tuesday morning meant a pitch inspection was required at 2pm, but it was deemed unplayable.
The tie will have to be rescheduled to a later date.
Braintree Town Reserves' next game will now be their division one trip to March Town United on Saturday.
