There will be an opportunity for Braintree Town to set the record straight from their disappointing FA Cup exit when they step out fo FA Trophy first round proper action on December 16.

The Iron, who won their third qualifying round tie 3-0 against Cray Wanderers last weekend, have been handed a home draw in the first round and it will be Vanarama National League North side Brackley Town who are the visitors to the IronmongeryDirect Stadium.

It will give the home side a chance to exact revenge after Brackley knocked Braintree out of the FA Cup at the end of September.

That was a frustrating day for the Iron as they were well below their best and bowed out at the third qualifying round stage with a 4-1 defeat at Brackley.

Brackley, who are sitting third in the Vanarama National League North table, booked their place in the FA Trophy first round with an impressive 4-0 win against league leaders Salford City on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Heybridge Swifts were also in the first round proper draw and have been handed an away tie at National League South side Hampton and Richmond Borough.

However, Swifts have to first get past Kingstonian in a replay on Wednesday after the pair drew 2-2 in their third qualifying round tie on Sunday.
