Brad Quinton's first competitive game in charge of Braintree Town will see the new Iron boss taking his team to Eastbourne Borough on August 5 on the opening day of the Vanarama National League South season.

The trip to Sussex to play on Borough's 3G pitch will see the two sides meet for the first time since an FA Cup first round clash between the two at Braintree last season.

Braintree won that previous encounter 7-0 on their home turf and their first home league game of the 2017/18 season will come on Tuesday, August 8, when the bookmakers' pre-season favourites, Dartford, are the visitors to the Ironmongery Direct Stadium.

That opening home match will followed four days later by the visit of Chippenham Town on Saturday, August 12.

Braintree will also entertain St Albans City on August Bank Holiday Monday, 28th August, with the return at Clarence Park on East Monday.

Festive action this season will see the re-igniting of an old rivalry against Chelmsford City.

Boxing Day has Iron hosting the Clarets, with the return at Melbourne Park on New Year's Day.

They are not the only Essex derbies ahead for Braintree this season.

There will be an early trip to East Thurrock United, who the Iron beat in the FA Trophy last year, on August 15 and a visit to Concord Rangers on September 12.

The return games see East Thurrock visit Braintree on January 6 and Rangers make the trip up from Canvey Island on April 14.

The Iron are due to finish their season at home to Gloucester City on April 28.
