THE third annual Carol Concert was held at Braintree Town's Ironmongery Direct Stadium.

Families had been invited to bring their children along to craft activities and refreshments from 3pm in the social club, before everyone went outside into the main stand for the carols in a service led by football club chaplain Rev Barry Cheesman.

The floodlights on a lovely mild evening set the atmosphere nicely and the Bradfield Brass Band got everyone in a Christmas mood, playing a selection of traditional carols for everyone to join in and sing.

A series of readings reminded everyone of the biblical story of Christmas and a puppet show by youngsters from Braintree Youth Project provided a light-hearted interlude.

The event was organised by Community Iron - the community charity of Braintree Town - and a collection raised £150 for the Braintree Youth Project.
