AFTER their FA Youth Cup success against Needham Market, Braintree Town’s young guns will be hoping to make club history when they host Dagenham and Redbridge in the third qualifying round on Wednesday.

The game will see an Iron side mostly made up of young Braintree Town Academy students facing the Daggers and will kick-off at 7.30pm at the Ironmongery Direct Stadium, with entrance for adults costing £5 and concessions and children £2.

Braintree are trying to build on their exploits of last season when they enjoyed their longest run in the competition by making it into the third qualifying round.

However, they have never made it into the first round proper before so are looking to make it into uncharted territory and will welcome home support from Iron fans.

The Iron youngsters booked their place in the third qualifying round by beating the Needham Market on penalties in the second qualifying round after the game had ended 1-1 after extra-time.
