New Braintree Town boss Jamie Day has wasted little time in establishing links between his own first-team management and the Braintree Town Academy.
Day, who was appointed as Iron boss less than a week ago, went along to the academy's base at Witham Town's Village Glass Stadium to meet staff and students and he sees it as an important part of the progression for players coming into the club's first-team.
He said: "It's nice to have the link with the Academy as I want to be seeing boys coming from there into the first team.
"So I wanted to go along to see the programme and give people there an honest assessment that if they are good enough then there is that pathway and that they have a manager who is interested.
"It was really good to get along there and meet people.
"I also met up with (manager) Adam (Flint) and (chairman) Mark (Nicholls) from Witham and had a chat with them as they are playing at a level that will help us progress players and it's good to have that link as well."
