Braintree Town are hoping that their fans will be early birds in collecting their tickets for Saturday's crunch Vanarama National League clash with Altrincham.

A big crowd is expected at the Avanti Stadium for a game - kicking-off at 5.30pm - that could see the Iron secure a history-making place in the end-of-season play-offs.

They need just a point to make sure of a top-five finish and the price of tickets has been reduced for the occasion.

However, they know that fans purchasing tickets ahead of Saturday will ease congestion at turnstiles and chairman Lee Harding said they will be available to buy on Tuesday and Thursday evenings this week.

"I've pushed for tickets to be available early as it will give people a chance to get down to the club, buy their ticket and walk straight in rather than having to queue up on Saturday," said Harding.

"We've also tried to cut ticket prices and have said it's a category C game.

"I think £15 for Saturday's game is good value for money and we're hoping that we'll get plenty of fans from other clubs coming to back us for what should be a tremendous occasion."

Tickets can be purchased from the Avanti Stadium Clubhouse in Clockhouse Way between 7.30pm and 9pm on both Tuesday and Thursday this week.
