While he was understandably delighted with one of his team’s most impressive wins of the season, Braintree Town manager Danny Cowley wants to keep feet of the floor after their 1-0 win at Grimsby Town.

The Iron picked up another big scalp to stay in the Vanarama National League play-off race.

However, Cowley doesn’t want energy expelled on dreaming of a top-five finish as there are three huge games still to come, starting with Saturday’s trip to Gateshead.

“We’ve had some great wins this season, but that one at Grimsby is up there with them,” said Cowley.

“Grimsby are a massive club with a big support.

“However, we can’t get over-excited.

"If you get too excited, you use up energy and we don’t have much of that to spare so we’ll keep feet on the floor and it’s just another step on our journey.”
