Howbridge Junior School retained their title as champions of Witham in the annual Indoor Athletics Championships at Rickstones Academy.
The school’s pupils went up against other year five and six children from the Witham area, competing in a range of events, including javelin, speedbounce, relays and obstacle courses.
The final scores showed that the Howbridge boys’ team won eight of their 12 events and the girls triumphed in ten of the 12.
Coach and year six teacher Damon Howlett said: “We have a very strong sporting ethos at Howbridge and the children love to compete.
“They really deserved the win.”
Howbridge’s team now go onto the North West Essex area finals, which will be held at Braintree College next month.
