Late singles wins for Peter Hinkson, Andy Camp and Simon Twin gave the match honours to the Retreat in their Braintree Open Darts League clash against Welsh Princess.

The Welsh had held the early advantage with wins for Brendan Hand and Phil Hume, but the Retreat bounced back to add to pairs and triples successes.

Legends started their match against the Swiss Bell with a 3-0 win in the pairs and a triples win before Dan Taylor took the opening singles game for them.

A win for Jan Pearce gave the Swiss some hope of recovering, however, with Stuart Wicks, Chris Holden and Barry Lynn winning the next three games, Legends had the singles and match points secured.

Bocking opened their account against the Eagle A with a 2-1 pairs victory and a draw in the triples.

Colin Barnard and Dave Joyce edged Bocking into the overall match lead at the start of the singles before Kelvin Byrne and Kieran Notley reduced the match deficit and made it all-square in the singles.

However, that was the end of the Eagle’s challenge as wins for Phil Watkins and Jimmy Kiddle secured the singles and match for Bocking.

The Eagle B also had a night without success as they lost the pairs, triples and singles to Cressing.

Tony Bamsey, Mick Cain, Peter Hayden, Shane Smith and Bryan Willis had singles wins for Cressing, with Chris Cook and Alex Chandler recording the Eagle’s only wins. Notley Sports won the pairs at Wethersfield before they shared the triples, but Dave Islip, Graham Chinnery, Stewart Thorogood and Leigh Bentley all won their singles to see the visitors secure the match and singles victories.

Eagle B’s Alex Chandler and Chris Cook and Cressing’s Tony Bamsey all hit 180s, while high shot-outs were recorded by Kieran Notley with a 109, A Cook with a 114 and Shane Smith with a 142.
