Maldon and Tiptree were knocked out of the FA Trophy at Park Drive.

They lost their preliminary round match 3-2 against visiting Ramsgate.

Maldon made a quick start to the game, taking the lead in the second minute.

David Segura played a great ball into Darren Mills, he scuffed a shot across the goal and Femi Akinwande was on hand to tap the ball in.

But the visitors pulled themselves level in the 20th minute.

Ian Pullman intercepted a sloppy pass from the Jammers’ Lewis Probert and his shot gave keeper Danny Sambridge no chance as Ramsgate made it 1-1.

But, Maldon retook the lead when visiting keeper Luke Watkins could only palm the ball into the path of Kieran Monlouis in the six-yard box and he made no mistake on 30 minutes.

Ramsgate got back into the game after the half-time break.

Pullman pulled the scores level from the penalty spot on 54 minutes.

And it was the visitors who took the lead on 68 minutes when Luke Girt made it 3-2 on 68 minutes.

Ramsgate managed to hold on to their advantage to book their passage into the next round.

Brightlingsea Regent will have it all to do again after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Thamesmead Town.

Regent fashioned the first chance of the half when Russell Malton’s shot went over the crossbar on 30 minutes.

But, Malton was on target just before half-time when a ball over the top caught out the home defence and his volley sailed into the net on 43 minutes.

Thamesmead equalised through Theo Fairweather Johnson on 71 minutes to earn a replay.

Heybridge Swifts made it to the next round when they secured a 2-1 victory at Aylesbury United.

Swifts took the lead in the second half when Josh Fagbohun scored on 63 minutes.

However, Lee Grace equalised for the home side five minutes later.

Swifts, though, restored their lead on 75 minutes through Billy Hunt.

Heybridge were reduced to ten men when Fagbohun was sent off two minutes later.

Swifts, however, managed to hold on to their lead and the win.

Witham Town’s journey in the FA Trophy came to an end against visiting Herne Bay.

James Turner gave the visitors the lead in the 24th minute.

Herne Bay went further in front on 61 minutes when Elliot Cutts made it 2-1.

Three minutes later, Witham got back into the game when Lewis Godbold pulled a goal back.

However, the visitors restored their two-goal advantage when Liam Quinn scored on 78 minutes.

But, Godbold gave Witham a chance to snatch something at the death when he made it 3-2 on 90 minutes.

Danny Williams, however, made the game safe for the visitors scoring in injury-time.
