Garry Kimble knows he is the right man to take Witham Town up the Ryman League division north table.

However, the Town manager admits it is taking longer than he had hoped to get them firing on full cylinders after their premier division relegation last year.

And Kimble is ready to make changes to his squad if his players don’t stop making the errors that have cost them so far this year.

Witham sit 21st in the table, having won just once in ten league games after Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at Harlow Town and a 2-2 draw at Dereham Town in midweek.

They return to one area that they have had success this season – the FA Cup – on Saturday with a second qualifying round tie at Evo-Stick Southern League premier division side King’s Lynn Town.

But Kimble is asking for fans to stay patient.

He said: “The club are standing by me and they have said that.

“You don’t want unrest in the camp and we have to stand up and get ourselves out of this and that’s everyone at the club from the chairman, to myself and the players.

“I think it’s the first time in four to five years that we’ve been in this situation.

“We’ve had success, but now the reality is that it is taking longer than we anticipated to get back on track.

“We want people to be patient and there won’t be any knee-jerk reactions.

“The situation isn’t that good, but we will turn it around as a club and as individuals."
