Witham racing driver James Winslow is setting his sights on a return to the pinnacle of endurance motorsport after joining the Portuguese Algarve Pro Racing Team for this season’s European and Asian Le Mans Series.

While he didn’t get to drive there this year, Winslow made an impressive debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2014, where he set record laps in the LMP2 class before his Greaves Motorsport car had to be retired early.

And the Witham racer is targeting a return in 2016 after landing a drive with Algarve Pro Racing.

Winslow is no stranger to motorsport success, having earned multiple F3 championship titles in Asia and is driving the team’s Nissan-powered Ligier JS P2 in the final three rounds of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and also the Asian Le Mans Series.

He has linked up with Michael Munemann, who he partnered at Le Mans last year, in the European series, with the pair being joined by Dean Koutsoumidis for the Asian championship.

The ultimate goal for Winslow and the Algarve Pro team is entry into the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, so they know a successful 2015 season is crucial.

Winslow said: “We are doing both ELMS and the Asian Le Mans Series to try and get the team into next year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans."
