MSS COLCHESTER Kawasaki’s Jesse Trayler enjoyed a season’s best result at the latest round of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

The Dunmow racer secured a hard-fought fifth place for the MSS Colchester Kawasaki team, at Snetterton.

Trayler said: “The weekend at Snetterton was just what myself and the team needed.

“We were instantly on the pace straight from qualifying one and I missed out on my maiden front row start by just 0.1, so that was a massive step forward for me as I’ve never been a good qualifier.

“The race got off very well with another good start and I was up to second on the first lap.

“It was good to hang with the two front boys for a bit before losing out down the two long straights by various BMWs. I’ve had a brilliant weekend and restored a lot of belief and confidence in my ability that I can run up the front.”

Trayler has been building momentum all season with his new team.

And in free practice the team worked hard to be ready to battle for the front two rows in qualifying.

A determined performance from Trayler and the team was rewarded with a second row start and just 0.1 seconds adrift of the front row.

Trayler battled for the podium with the leading pack in the early stages of the race, proving he has the pace to be fighting within the top five.

A consistent end to the race gave Trayler and the team their best result of the season so far.

It moves them to sixth in the overall standings, ahead of the next round at Knockhill next month.

Trayler added: “I think as a rider I turned a little corner last weekend and I cannot thank Nick (Morgan) and the boys at MSS Colchester Kawasaki enough for giving me the right tools for the job - the bike was faultless all weekend.

“I’m looking forward to Knockhill now and getting stuck in with it again.”
