Sydney Wilson bowed out of his first tournament as a professional snooker player as he was beaten 5-2 in the second round of the Australian Goldfields Open Qualifiers.
Having earned his World Tour card only two weeks ago with a success at Qualifying School, the 25-year-old from Rivenhall was knocked out by Jack Lisowski in the qualifiers in Crawley.
Wilson, who has played for Stepfield Snooker Club in the AG Glass Braintree and District Snooker League, had booked his second round spot with a first round win against Oliver Brown the day before and started well as he faced Lisowski.
He won the opening frame 71-34, but then lost the next three.
A break of 85 in the fifth frame pulled the score back to 3-2, however, Lisowski wrapped up the match by winning the next two frames.
