Witham Town manager Garry Kimble says he may face a summer of rebuilding if he loses members of his squad ahead of next season.

Following their relegation from the Ryman League premier division last season, Kimble is waiting for the club to tell him what playing budget he’ll have to work with in division one north next year.

He expects it to be lower than the one he had at the higher level, though, and even though he wants to keep his squad together, he feels he may not be able to keep hold of some members of his playing staff.

Kimble said: “I’ve been taking time out to digest what happened at the end of last season and where we can go from here.

“Nothing is set in concrete, but I know it’s going to be hard to keep some players.

“Hopefully by the end of this week or next week I’ll know my budget and we can go from there.

“It will be cut, but hopefully not too much and we can still compete.

“However, there are some big boys in division one north and it will be hard.

“We’ll have to see what happens, but it might be hard and I may have to rebuild.

“The lads have tasted Ryman Premier football now and they’ll want it again, but I hope they decide to stick together.”
