As part of England Hockey’s national Back to Hockey campaign, Phoenix Hockey Club will be looking to take people of all ages and ability forward during this summer.

Back to Hockey sessions are coached out-of-season sessions for people who not have played the game for a long period of time, or who are looking to try a new sport for the first time.

With the summer international season soon underway and Great Britain’s men playing Germany in the Nations Cup next week, these sessions hope to harness a general rise in the profile of the sport.

Having run successful courses in the past for female players, Phoenix will run courses for both men and women this time.

One major difference this year will also be the fact that the club will run one course during the day and one during the evening.

Chairman Chris Card believes that with the Community Club Award behind it, Phoenix are the right place for local people to get into a team environment, perhaps for the first time.

Sessions start on Tuesday, April 14, from 10am to 11am or 7.30pm to 8.30pm at the Four Releet Ground.
