Witham Town’s management team are ready for a selection dilemma for their Ryman League premier division trip to Kingstonian today.

Assistant boss Brad King said goalkeeper Martyn Guest would be back available after missing the previous two games.

He and manager Garry Kimble will have to decide whether to bring Guest straight back into the line-up or stick with former Great Wakering Rovers keeper Louis Godwin-Green, who has made an impressive start to his time at Town.

King said: “Guesty was away on holiday at the weekend and he was back for Monday, but Louis did so well against Hornchurch and was man-of-the-match so he kept the shirt.

“Louis was top drawer on Saturday and he did nothing wrong at Billericay so we have a decision to make for the trip to Kingstonian.

“It’s great to have competition for the goalkeeper’s position, though.”

Meanwhile, Kurt Smith has re-signed after a spell at Thurrock and Witham are hoping to name a new centre-forward in their squad ahead of the weekend trip to Kingstonian.

However, King said there are unlikely to be any further squad additions.

He added: “There probably won’t be any more changes now as we believe in the boys we have here.”

One change that has taken place this week is that striker Luke Callander has left to join Ryman League division one north side AFC Sudbury.

King said: “I’ve know Luke a long time and he’s a great lad.

“We spoke and decided that the best for both him and us was for him to get football elsewhere.

“He hasn’t been able to commit to training and that has had had an effect on his fitness.

“He will always score goals, but we are in a dogfight and we needed to make a change to the way we played.

“Luke has been good as gold, though, and we really do wish him all the best.”
